Château de Sept Tours. The Imposing Loire Region.

Château de Sept Tours. The Imposing Loire Region.

After our golf-filled adventure in Seignosse (which you can read all about on the blog), Maximiliaan and I weren't quite ready to head straight home. The road trip vibes were still strong. So we plotted another stop on our way back from Spain, and landed at the fairytale-like Château des Sept Tours. Yes, it’s as majestic as it sounds.

A Castle, a spritz, and a whole lot of vibes

After stuffing ourselves with grilled prawns and golf memories in Seignosse, we set our sights on the rolling green hills near Tours, France. As we drove deeper into the countryside, the surroundings got more and more dreamy; winding roads, lush trees, and finally, a castle straight out of a storybook. Ivy climbing the towers, locals enjoying an early aperitif, and a veranda that just begged for a slow dinner. We were sold.

We kicked things off with a casual exploration of the domain and the château itself. Since it was already evening and our stomachs were doing their thing, we asked if we could grab an apéro first. That summer air hit just right, and our drink orders may have been a bit... off-theme. I went for an Aperol Spritz (sorry, France), while Maximiliaan went full Italy with a Negroni. But hey, they tasted chef's kiss perfect.

Dinner in the veranda didn’t disappoint either. This is one of those magical things about France, even in the middle of nowhere, you can count on an amazing meal. Great food, great wine, and a setting that made us feel like royalty. We capped the evening with a mini stroll around the property and called it a night.

Morning golf: Quiet & quirky

Early rise, coffee in hand, and golf shoes on. The course at Château des Sept Tours wraps around the castle, which makes for a pretty surreal backdrop. And guess what? We had the place almost entirely to ourselves.

Okay, real talk: the course wasn’t in perfect condition. It was a bit dry, and not the wildest layout we’ve ever played. But with that kind of atmosphere and the full peace and quiet? Totally worth it. And let’s be honest, the Original Harpy Bag we brought along made it all the more bearable. Stylish, functional, and travel-ready, just how we like it.

After our 18 holes (and a few missed putts we’re not talking about), we spent some time shooting content around the château with our Harpy sample tees. Gotta say, they looked real good in that golden French light. Stay tuned.

The road home

With our last swing swung, it was time to wrap up the summer adventure. One last detour: Le Touquet. Nothing fancy, just a takeaway pizza on the beach, an ice cream for dessert, and a little moment of silence to appreciate the trip that had been.

Then, back on the road to Belgium. Sun-kissed, satisfied, and already dreaming of the next golf escape.

If you're ever near Tours and want to mix a bit of golf with a whole lot of charm, Château des Sept Tours is definitely one to bookmark. And yep, the Harpy Bag Original used on this adventure is still available in our shop. Perfect for your next road trip.

Fairways, travel, and apéros forever,

The Harpy team
